Get In Sit Down Shut Up Hang On....

Let me start off by saying that I am scared to type this for this reason....I will probably get a ticket soon.

You see, I have been driving for like 15 or 16 years and have never been given a ticket by the police. Call it luck or what ever you want but that is the truth! Now don't think I have never been stopped, because I have, THREE TIMES!!! I just seem to have gotten out of them for a few reasons: First time the cop new me from JSU (we had the same criminal justice classes) and we were from the same county. Second time she went to school with my mom and I had spent the previous night at her church for a cake walk. Third time I really don't know why they let me go. My guess would be that when they pulled my record up it showed NOTHING!!!! HA....this is the reason I think I will get a ticket soon, for bragging about it. Anyway...I told the officers the truth and they let me go.

So always be nice to the little police men and women!!! They are here to serve and protect. That is why I appreciate all they do. Especially the Boaz Police Department. They have come to my rescue and I thank them!

There are a few more happenings that I would tell you, but you would have to swear your life away before I told you.

Next I want to talk about my driving ability. MOST would say it stinks, but that is okay, I can live with and without their opinions. I think I drive rather safe, no wrecks or tickets. Knock on wood!!! I do have a problem with stopping (I get it from my grandmother). I don't really put the brakes on until the last minute. Chris says I scare him and now he knows why Bear always slept when I was traveling to see him. So, if you ever want to ride with me just, "Get In, Sit Down, Shut Up and Hang On" and we will get there safe.

HGTV

I never really watched HGTV much until this week. They have such cute and fun ideas. Every time I did I would always want to redecorate something, but with a very limited income, I just couldn't do it...so I stopped watching it. Chris has got me hooked on it again! This time we have been watching...House Hunters, House Hunters International, Property Virgins, For Rent and My First Place.
House Hunters is really fun to watch. I just can't believe the prices that some of these homes go for. I mean you get a shack for $100,000. Last night we watched House Hunters International. This lady lived on a boat and wanted a home on land. She looked at one condo for $240,000 in St Thomas...it was one bedroom and one bath! That is just crazy in my small opinion!!!! She finally settled for a two BR, two BA condo for $315,000. I figured she was paying for the location and view more than anything else.
One thing that bugs me is...what these people want: big kitchen, party area, more living space, man cave, yard...and the list goes on and on! This one couple on House Hunters, the man wanted a Man Cave. I totally agree with that, but my gosh how big do you want it to be. He was picky!!!
I can't wait to watch more tonight!

4th of July

Our 4th of July was very different this year. I really didn't like that! Chris went to his parents and I went and spent it with my family in Oxford. There were not many of us there, but we had a good time anyway. I got home before Chris, because he went and spent the evening with some friends. I called Joyce & Danny and wished them a happy anniversary.

Aunt Brenda, Mom, Mawmaw, Aunt Amy, Aunt Mary

Kara

After eating and visiting - mom, mawmaw, aunt amy, Kara and I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and did a little shopping. I haven't been shopping like that in a while and I really enjoyed it.

I just picture that holiday being so much fun, BBQ, fireworks, family, swimming and watermelon. Maybe one day it will be!

Reusable ice cubes

My mom bought these for us Monday at Bed Bath & Beyond in Oxford. They are reusable ice cubes and are filled with distilled water. You just place them in the freezer and use them like regular ice cubes. I really don't like drinking something after the ice has melted (It's just gross) so these are really going to come in handy. You can even wash them in the dishwasher, but I choose to wash them in the kitchen sink.

I guess I don't get out a lot because I have never seen these before.
