Finish Strong!

I thought this was a good lesson for me today and wanted to share it with everyone! Some days I get really down and then I receive an email like this and it really changes my outlook for the day.

“...Run in such a way as to get the prize”

(1 Corinthians 9:24, NIV)

Oftentimes, when we have a dream in our heart, we start off strong. We head down the path toward our goal, and we’re so excited! But along the way, we hit some roadblocks and encounter some adversity. Many times, people will just give up and take the easy way out. But we have to remember, it’s not how we start that counts; it’s how we finish. Anybody can be fired up at the beginning, but I’m encouraging you to stick with it until the end! Have the determination to go all the way through. Don’t stop at the halfway mark just because times are tough. Don’t quit because you don’t see anything happening. The scripture tells us not to walk by sight, but to walk by faith.
Today, if there’s a dream in your heart, something you’re believing for — a relationship to turn around, a business opportunity or to overcome an addiction — keep pursuing it! Run your race to win the prize! Don’t settle until you see the fullness of what God has placed in your heart. As you stand strong in your faith, I believe God will pour out His favor and blessing upon you, and you will see the victory He has in store for you!

Cell Phone Cover

I have been wanting a new phone cover ever since we got these phones. So I purchased one today off of Amazon.com. I got a black one for it when we bundled our phones, but I am really not a black kind of person. I guess I should have said I really don't care for that color!
So I got this bright green one for only $4.95 with no shipping or handling. Good Deal in my book!

You know what really bugs me?

REALTORS THAT DON'T SHOW UP!!!!! That is who.....

We had a realtor that was supposed to come between 11:00am and 1:00pm today and show the house. Well needless to say, she never showed up. After missing a day of mowing and having to drive around the county for two hours, Chris called our realtor who told him that the other people had canceled the appointment. AHHHHH!!!!!
We don't mind showing the house and having to leave with Bear, but please show up or call and let us know that you are not coming. Driving around for two hours is no fun when you have a sixty pound dog that you have to keep up with, plus it is 90 degrees outside.
On the good side, Chris brought Bear by my work and I got to see them both for a little while!

Helping Tornado Victims

Saturday I joined Aunt Amy, Uncle Randy, Mawmaw and a few other people from Clay County at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Calhoun County. Uncle Randy wanted to help feed the volunteers and victims that were affected by the tornado. I think we served over 300 plates. We ran out of ham and join up with another team who had chicken and fixed more plates. After we got through with the food, we went out and handed out water to those that were working in yards and utility workers.

I am not going to post many pictures, because I just don't think it is very respectable.
Below is an older gentleman who really touched my heart. He never complained about losing anything or having to replace anything. He said all that stuff is not important, it is your life that is important. Instead of us sharing God's love to him, he shared it with us. He handed out little Bibles as we walked around his property. When we started to leave something was telling me to turn around and hug him. So I turned around and give him a small simple hug and told him to stay safe. I never got his name, but he was special.

We also meet this other lady who lost everything. The only thing left was the slab under their home. After the tornado they tried to find their bedroom furniture and only found pieces of it. They were only able to save the small stuff she said. They were staying in a RV for the time being. She said she had parked her car in the carport so it would not have any hail damage and when she found it all the windows were blown out.
I am so glad that I went. My part was very small, but I just hope that it made a difference in someones life. :) I have a piece of wood that is in my car, to remind me that it is not about what we have but who we have.

Lasik Eye Surgery

I have been wanting to get

so I can
So I have been calling around to different places and getting prices. Let me tell you it is not cheap. Most places wanted around $2,500 per eye and in my book that is just too much to pay. Not that my eye sight is not worth it, I am just not going to pay that much.
So my cousin, Clint, had the surgery done a couple of years ago and he loved it. He recommended me to a place in Auburn, AL. I went onto their website and got all the info. that I need and filled out all the paper work. I have been calling around town and getting prices for Lasik Evaluations. The doctor in Auburn does it for free but I just think I would rather get evaluated here and not drive 3 hours away for him to tell me it won't  work. I found a doctor that can do an evaluation for a reasonable price ( under $100). So all that is left to do now is go to him and get this ball rolling!!!!
