Pride & Prejudice #2

Thought I would give an update on how things are going with the play.

This has been an amazing adventure for me. Doing something that I would have never done before and I thank God and our director for this opportunity.

Let me just say this first. I know I talk softly and I knew I would have an issue with this going into the rehearsals, but gracious I had no idea I would have to scream (almost). So that is really the only thing that I get called out for (so far). I don't mind it, it is just what I have to learn to be better at. After all, I do want this to be a great play.

I have taken some pictures at rehearsals but I may or may not post them, because I am not sure if the other people would want to be posted on here. So who knows I may come back later and do it, once the play is over. We do have a photographer, Monica Martin, who has come to rehearsals and taken several photos.

We are currently having practice from 6:30-9:00. It was 6:00-9:00 and that will start again at the end of this month. I don't have to go every night, only the nights in which I have a part to rehearse. This week I have been there every night and trust me it has been a busy week. I do have more time to go home from work and eat, change and get some things taken care of.

One thing I really did not think about when I auditioned for this part was the fact that I will have a lot of down time during the play. Mary has about 17 lines in the whole play, so that means that I spend some time sitting around backstage (memorizing my lines).  I know that once the play starts I will have to be aware of when I go on stage.

We are doing some school shows as well. (I think) Right now they are scheduled for February 13th at DAR and New Hope. One is at 9:00am and the other at noon.

We have been measured for our costumes. There is one dress that fits me perfect in length, but the waist is quite snug! HA! Kim our costume lady said she could fix that. Lets hope she can, HA! I have also been trying to get some character shoes. I would rather not have to buy them, but it looks like I may have too. I have a pair of shoes that I am going to show her tonight and see if they work. Lets hope they will. Because since I have a small foot I am having a hard time finding some. There are a couple of dancewear shops up here, but they don't have the size I need.

2011...

This past year has been one of the hardest years of my life. I have gone through some personal stuff that has made me a stronger person.  I would say that I would like to erase it, but it has given me some great things as well. I have a new nephew, a wonderful family and a closer relationship with God.
I have realized that I am a fighter in what I believe. If you want to say hard headed that is fine, that is your opinion (one that I will agree with). Sometimes the trip(life) is not fun and we want to stop and get off.  If we will trust in God and have faith, our ending will be great.
So I look forward to 2012 with a happy heart and faith in God. Yes I am still worried (I am human) but not like I was this time last year. I look forward to what God is going to put in my life.
