Christmas and Ashley

Christmas is my favorite season. This year we had Christmas a little early with Chris' parents and sister. Chris's mom, Joyce, made the best breakfast I have had in a long time. So we had brunch and rested for awhile before we opened presents. Chris and I got Ashley an Easel. It has a chalkboard side and a dry erase side. It also came with magnetic numbers and letters. Joyce and Danny got her a V-tech giraffe thing that she can learn to peddle. It also has other learning things on it. She loved all her gifts. She is just so smart. I love the way she says her name, Ashy. She can't get the "L" out yet, but it wont be long before she does. I asked her whos shoes those where and she said, "Ashys Elmo shoos. She loves her Uncle Chris! She calls him Chis. Everytime Chris went out of the room it was, Chis go potty? Chis go bye bye! One time she pitched a fit and got put in timeout. We really saw her bad side then :( Miranda asked her if she was going to be a good girl for the rest of the day and she said "NO!" (At least she was honest).
Our next Christmas was at my grandmothers house. I had to work half a day so we left as soon as work was over. We played a different game this year. My Uncle Tommy read a story about Mr. and Mrs. Right. Everytime you heard the word right you passed a gift to the right, and everytime you heard the word left you passed the gift to the left. It was a really funny game. I hope we can play it again next year. I got to see Sawyer & Ava Claire. Sawyer looks just like his daddy, Adam. Ava Claire is so sweet. She lets anyone hold her. After we spent the afternoon with my grandmother we went to my parents house. I got to see My Little Man Wilson! I just love him. After a long day we got home at 11:30PM.
Chris does not like to sleep in on Christmas Day. We got up at 7:30AM and exchanged gifts. I got a lot of kitchen things and he got a 4 foot level and some more things that have not arrived yet! (Crazy post office)

Time To Catch Up!

Well its been a long time since I posted something so I will try and catch everyone up. Chris' granny had surgery on October 14th and is doing good.
My cousin Kara is a senior at Clay County High School. She got voted to be on the homecoming court with two other classmates. So Chris and I went down to Ashland that Friday night to be with her and to watch the ballgame. I am glad to say that she won Homecoming Queen!!!! My whole family was excited to see her win. She was really beautiful. Clay County won the ballgame, so it was a good night for all of us.
Thanksgiving was fun, as always! We first went to Grannys and spent Thanksgiving with her on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Day we went to Joyce and Dannys. The food was great and we got to play with our niece Ashley. She is so smart and loves the color purple. After Chris and I got home all we did was talk about how well Ashley is doing with learning things. She is only 1 1/2 years old and she knows some of her colors.
After Thanksgiving we started putting our Christmas stuff up. Chris likes to listen to Christmas music while we decorate. I LOVE IT!!! The only thing we didn't get put up was our wreaths on the front windows. We could not find suction cups anywhere, so we just left them down this year. Mom and dad came up for the Alabama-Florida game. ROLL TIDE!!!!! We also got a little bit of snow that morning.
Our next adventure with Bear was a visit from an opossum at 4:30AM. Bear woke us up barking and jumping on his dog house. I looked out the window and saw the opossum on his pin. Chris went outside and shot it and of course it had to act like it was dead, but it wasn't. That was a bad way to start our morning.

What a week!

Well this week started off good. Bear dropped his chew rope into his water bowl Monday morning. The water looked like muddy water. We walked around the house with a couple of pit stops to water everything. I changed his water and put his rope out in the sun so that it would dry and so I could wash it later that evening after supper. When I got home, I went out and tried to get his rope but Bear picked it up and would not let me have it. Chris said that Bear was mad that I had not washed it sooner, so when I went to get it it was too late.

The rest of the week was okay. Same ole stuff at work. Thursday evening Chris went and got the mail. Well our water bill was higher than normal. So we knew then that we had a water leak. We had one back in January and with the help of my parents got it fixed. We checked all the pipes that we could check to make sure they were okay. So Chris cut the water off at the road and we waited until Friday morning to fix it. We got up early Friday and got started. Well, the day just got better. While digging we cut the phone line into. Now we have no water and no phone! AAAAAAAAAAAAA...So Chris was still digging and I took care of the phone ordeal. I really wish you could talk to a human instead of a machine when you have an emergency. The woman (machine) told me to hold while they checked to see if the phone problem was on their end or our end. Hellooooo.....I could of had this solved in two minutes if I had been talking to a human! I knew where the problem was...I just needed someone to come out and fix it. Anyway they got here and had it fixed in 30 minutes. After the phone got fixed we had gotten the water pipe fixed and just needed to wait for the glue to dry (2 hours). So at 3:00 we go back and check on it...it is still leaking!! So back to Ace Hardware I go. I get home we do the same thing again....wait 2 hours....check the pipe and it is good to go. We got through at around 6:00 p.m. The first thing we did was get showers. THANK GOD FOR WATER AND INDOOR PLUMBING!!!!!!!! Let's just say that if you need a waterline fixed, Chris and I know what to do.
Saturday was a great day! My parents came up and we went to the Boaz Harvest Festival and then out to eat at Catfish Cabin. My mom wanted to go do some shopping, so we left the boys at home and went shopping.
Till next time.....
